Words from J.P. Paillard
Christèle Lefay's work is given without any declared intention. Her personal development remains mysterious. Time is not reported. The outcome is unexpected and though paradoxically familiar, probably coming from our dreams.

Creation is there : a new world arises. However, not only is it the product of our imagination, on the contrary, reality is disclosed there. Naturalness appears suddenly in the midst of artifice, and turns out to be altered, unrecognizable.
It becomes the content, the impulse, the very vital beating.

In colours, overlapping in transparency, with rough appearance, and fluctuating between abstract and figurative, forms reveal themselves. Most of the time off-camera, the very close framing lets our imagination wandering. Limits are abolished.

The scale is not given. Is perspective huge and space unlimited ? Are we scrutinizing the tiny world in the lens of a microscope ? We try out the lose of reference points. The micro-macro process allows to see and focus on a tiny universe. Immensity greets our eyes.

It is a world from origins which blooms in primitive and simple forms. It is like intermediate towards sense, a pass to material. It is vegetal. This world is a becoming. It asks nothing but to be born again. Pollen is spreading there : a spining round pollen, spreading in space in order to organise it.

The spectator wonders. The keys are not provided. He does though experience that new world. It is not that of every-day life, not even that of vegetal or delinquent nature in a space of artifice. Hasn't he already traveled through this maze ? And what about this empathy to a universe he recognizes ?
